Consultation
Services
Attorney related services would include consultation to identify possible mental health issues relating to their clients in Criminal or Civil/Family Court. Discussions include but are not limited to the assessment or treatment needs of their client, direction on mental health services that match the client’s needs with a consulting professional or a strategy necessary for psycholegal decision-making.
Courts sometimes need direction for litigants before them. Typically, this type of consultation provides an independent opportunity for the court and judges’ law clerks in need of information on a particular case and the mental health services needed for successful resolution. The Administration of the Courts (AOC) sometimes seek expert opinion on mental health issues necessary for judicial training or court retreats. Training is available upon request.
Schools or institutions seek consultation to address possible next steps when an incident of student or employee behavior comes under review. Typically, this type of consultation provides an independent opportunity to discuss a case and serve the school or institution with initial case direction or an opportunity for a second opinion review in complex matters.
Clinical Forensic Psychology Supervision is provided to licensed or license eligible mental health professionals seeking clinical supervision on assessments or interventions on matters before the court. Clinical psychological supervision often is a result of complex psycholegal matters, cases that are an impasse, or direction for a clinician who is addressing an issue with their client in particular.
