Forensic Services
Clinical Forensic Psychologists of PsychInLawNJ primarily provide evaluative services working with clients referred from legal practices, community mental health centers, universities, school districts, courts, specialized agencies or families. Evaluation services, which provide assessment and treatment recommendations necessary for legal and personal.

Juvenile & Adult Risk Assessments
Juvenile & Adult Risk Assessments include the evaluation for interpersonal or sexual violence, impulse control difficulties including threat assessments for harassment, intimidation or bullying or offense specific risk of harm to self or others.

Court Ordered Evaluations
Court Ordered Evaluations encompass court orders in both Criminal and Civil Courts. Criminal Court referrals include emergent risk assessment, sentencing or offense specific evaluations for treatment. Family Court referrals include assessments for child abuse or risk of harm, domestic violence, family or parenting time conflicts, stalking or intimidation.

School Based Risk Assessments
School Based Risk Assessments address cases where a student is perceived to be a physical or emotional threat to fellow students, teachers or administration. These evaluations typically are emergent, a result of a temporary suspension and relate to the student’s return to the school community.

Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying (HIB) Investigations
Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying (HIB) Investigations are the result of behavior that relates to the individual students conduct and the circumstance in which the behavior occur. A referral for this service is either a investigation as to culpability by a student, teacher or school environment for adverse conduct. A psychological assessment for emotional harm can be conducted as the impact the offense had others.
Services to Law Enforcement including Police Officer Screenings or Fitness for Duty
Services to Law Enforcement including Police Officer Screenings or Fitness for Duty referrals relate to the police officer or superiors psychological functioning. Police Officer Screenings are a psychological assessment for possible appointment to the individual department or for admission to the police academy. Fitness for Duty evaluations are typically made for problems of conduct on the job or as a result of a traumatic incident in the performance of duties.
Emergent Diagnostic Evaluations
Emergent Diagnostic Evaluations are conducted with individuals experiencing emotional distress where self-harm or harm to others is occurring. These evaluations typically are needed for treatment planning with the individual, family or institution.
